Virtual Event

The future will require credit unions to approach diversity, equity, and inclusion from many different angles—visible and invisible, from the workplace to the marketplace—in order to increase diverse representation and advance organizational effectiveness and performance outcomes. Start your new year with a new perspective on the future.

Filene’s new Center of Excellence for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), a five-year research project launched in early 2020, and will be led by Filene Fellow, Dr. Quinetta Roberson of Villanova University. Join this webinar to learn more about the future vision and potential impacts of this research including:

  • Laying the foundation for industry-wide benchmarking of the current state of DEI in credit unions to accurately measure progress.
  • Bringing cutting edge academic research forward by studying the barriers to a more diverse, inclusive and equitable workforce, workplace, and financial services system.
  • Identifying best practices, establishing playbooks, and building tools and guides to implement best practices.

Taylor C. Nelms and George Hofheimer will detail the opportunity at hand to transform how we understand what matters around diversity, equity, fairness and inclusion. They will then share yet-to-be-released research highlights from the “Pathways to Impact Qualitative Study” which applies the consumer voice to our previous work testing financial programs and products designed to reach and serve minority households. This new research provides a framework for developing and implementing high quality programs with long-term, sustainable impact.
