Filene Prioritizes Innovation within Leadership Development Programs

Applications for Filene i3 and enrollment in The Cooperative Trust’s Crash Course Program are now open.

Applications and enrollment for credit union leaders to participate in The Cooperative Trust and i3 leadership development programs are now open through November 30, 2021.

Moving into its 18th cohort, Filene i3 is inviting credit union industry leaders to participate in its two-year innovation leadership program. Through a cohort-based program, participants work in cross-functional teams to explore and address many of credit unions' most pressing challenges, building their innovation mindset and leading change for the industry.

“When we think about what credit unions are really good at, we’re really good at managing risk. And, when we think about innovation, innovation is the idea of embracing risk,” says Filene’s Chief Experience Officer, Christie Kimbell. “After an unusual year, the i3 program is the ideal opportunity for credit union leaders to grow, learn and test in a way that minimizes risk safely while tackling complex problems with fresh eyes.”

The Filene i3 innovation leadership program is looking for senior leaders to join this esteemed community, which just reached its 300th member. Details on how to apply are available at filene.org/i3. Applications must be submitted by November 30.

For those innovators early in their careers, The Cooperative Trust is excited to open the second cohort of a brand new program, Crash Course: Filene’s Centers of Excellence. Launched in the middle of the global pandemic, Crash Course set out to engage, connect, inspire, and activate emerging leaders in the industry. More than 120 emerging credit union leaders participated in this unique development opportunity in its first year.

Building authentic, innovative, and forward-thinking communities has never been more critical to the success of credit unions.

“Building authentic, innovative, and forward-thinking communities has never been more critical to the success of credit unions,” comments Filene’s Community Development Director, Cortney Angeley. “Filene provided the space and ability to innovate so The Cooperative Trust could experiment and explore new and novel ideas without the fear of failure.”

Enrollment in the Crash Course program is now open through December 10. Details on how to recruit an emerging leader within your credit union can be found at filene.org/crashcourse.

Filene i3 and Crash Course program participants will be announced in January 2022.
