Don’t Let Panic Derail Your Plans

“Something came up.”

“I don’t have enough information yet.”

“I don’t need to start it right now.”

Even when we map out the year with a strategic plan we can still find ourselves holding on to that one item that forever stays at the bottom of our to-do lists. That one thing that we never quite get to on our agenda because we run out of time.  That one goal we said we would start working on once we get to April.

Well, it’s now May. Some of us are starting to get that sinking feeling in our stomachs. Panic mode is starting to settle in.

That panic mode grows with urgency when we start to face the reality that our delay doesn’t’ just impact our to-do list but it impacts others. Our colleagues may be waiting. Our supervisors may not have the updates ready to report. But most importantly, our members are affected.

So how do we get out of this rut and avoid letting the panic take over? We look to the strategies and plans we put in place and we remember that it is ok to reach out for help.

That’s where Filene comes in. We can talk with you, your executive teams and your Board to make sure your strategic plans are on the right path and are taking you where you need to go. We can help empower and create thinkers and innovators within your credit union to help solve your most pressing issues. And we can take a fresh look to evaluate and improve the member journey and focus on their ease of use.

Whether you’re looking to spruce up just one piece of your plan or you need to completely reroute your organization, Filene is here to help.

April has come and gone and the end of the fiscal year is upon us. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need a jump start. Think of it as an investment in the work you’ve already put in. If not for yourself, do it for your members.
