As the Cooperative Trust Manager, Lauren leads and empowers a growing community of young advocates for credit unions and cooperative finance. In addition to leading a dozen onsite Crashes each year for hundreds of credit union young professionals, Lauren manages the online Cooperative Trust community, speaks on behalf of Filene to credit union friends around the world, and is currently piloting a mentorship program to connect young credit union talent with senior leaders in the industry.
Lauren participated in Crash the GAC 2016, an experience that jumpstarted her passion for the credit union system. Eager to get involved in shaping the future of cooperative finance, Lauren was accepted into the Filene i3 Class of 2018. After these experiences, Lauren decided to make the move to Madison to join Team Filene and expand her impact on the credit union ecosystem.
Prior to her role at Filene, Lauren spent five years at True North Federal Credit Union in Juneau, Alaska. For the majority of her time there, Lauren worked in business lending focusing on developing community relationships and meeting the needs of small business owners while driving efficiency and accuracy in the back-office. Lauren was a founding member and past-president of the Juneau Rotaract Club, a young adult service organization, where she honed her ability to bring strategic visions to life.
Lauren graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alaska Southeast with her Bachelor of Business Administration and Management where she received the Bob Ellis Award for Outstanding Graduate in Management.
No matter where in the world she is, you can find Lauren every morning with a cup of coffee in her hand. The rest of the time, if not working, she’s probably biking, hiking, playing sports, or reading good books.
