Jake Darabos was born and raised in Michigan. He earned a Bachelor’s of Professional Accountancy from Saginaw Valley State University and an MBA from the Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management at Northwood University. After beginning his career in public accounting and earning his CPA designation, Jake joined the Credit Union industry in Michigan, where he worked for 7 years as the CFO at CASE Credit Union.
In 2018, he moved to Kentucky, where he currently serves as the Chief Financial & Administration Officer at $2.2 billion Abound Credit Union. In his current role, Jake leads the Credit Union’s Accounting & Finance, Payment Systems, Data Analytics, and Financial Wellness teams with an innovative approach to solutions, collaboration, and partnerships. In his time at Abound Credit Union, Jake has been influential in strategic planning, mergers, FinTech partnership development, community partnerships, governmental affairs, and the vast expansion of financial wellness initiatives, including the recently announced 1st Place recognition by CUNA for the 2023 Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award).
Over the years, Jake has volunteered in leadership roles with Ele’s Place (a healing center for grieving children and families in Lansing, Michigan), the Lansing Community College Foundation (in Lansing, Michigan), the Kentucky Credit Union League, and the Central Kentucky Community Foundation.
