Esther Edevold is a creative and innovative leader who uses business intelligence insights to provide strategic direction to business partners and teams. Esther has 20 years of experience leading corporate finance, secondary markets, budgeting, profitability, investment portfolio, interest rate risk, mortgage pipeline hedging, liquidity, process improvement, data analytics, and data strategy. Esther strives to think outside the box and find creative solutions to best meet Member needs. She leads by example, rolling up her sleeves to seek the best outcomes.
In the newly created role, Vice President of Insights and Innovation, Esther leverages business insights to innovate, experiment and lead product strategy contributing to smart growth and the evolving expectations of consumers and small businesses. The most noteworthy initiatives to date include a member risk model used to allocate check hold availability based on appropriate risk levels and automating credit loan decisions. She has also led product and process account changes leveraging data to improve the member experience.
Esther began her career at a local Austin credit union, Government Employees Federal Credit Union. There, she managed a branch, assisted Spanish-speaking Members, and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Accounting. She then joined UFCU in 2006 where she has spent the majority of her career. She has held various roles in accounting and finance including leading Finance as Vice President of Finance.
Esther holds a bachelor's degree in Finance and an MBA from Texas State University - San Marcos. She is also a Vistage International Emerging Leader graduate. Esther volunteers at Seton Hospital making baby blankets for new mothers and babies and serves in the children’s ministry at her church. She and her family reside in Buda, Texas and enjoy spending time in nature.
