Dr. Dionne Pohler is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto. She earned her PhD from the University of Alberta School of Business.
Her research focuses on the intersection between strategy, HR systems, unions and employee involvement in both private and public sector organizations. Other research interests include examining governance successes and failures in large co-operatives, comparing the consequences of alternative organizational governance arrangements, and exploring the governance challenges in the credit union sector. Prof. Pohler has published articles in Human Resource Management, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, and British Journal of Industrial Relations.
In 2016, Dionne was a founding board member of Co-operatives First, a non-profit organization dedicated to working with rural and Aboriginal communities in Western Canada to explore co-operative solutions to the needs identified by community members.
