Collective Intelligence

Credit unions share a common ethos of cooperation, but don't always put this idea into practice. Filene hosted a research event on collective intelligence, and examined various avenues for working collectively with other credit unions.

Executive Summary

Small credit unions often merge because of significant regulation and operating costs, the pressure to deliver new products to members, and the benefits offered by economies of scale. So how can credit unions stay on top of product and service development and operating costs? By sharing knowledge and ideas—both successes and failures—within their organizations and with fellow credit unions. Four presenters and a panel of credit union representatives offered experience and suggestions on how to tap into collective intelligence.
