Breaking Out of the Debt Cycle: Justice-Involved Financial Services

Register

The US incarcerates more individuals that any other nation, and the justice system disproportionately takes aim at people of color. Involvement in the criminal justice system places individuals and their extended families deep into debt cycles that can be difficult to overcome. The financial demands of the criminal justice system often contribute to a “second sentence” for many returning citizens, severely constraining any hope for achieving financial well-being.

Join Filene Fellow Lisa Servon with the Center for Consumer Financial Lives in Transition to learn how credit unions can provide safe and affordable financial services that contribute to more positive outcomes for returning citizens.
