Planning for the future is hard enough, but trying to do it on your own is impossible. The greatest advantage that credit unions have is in leveraging our cooperative nature so that we never need to face big challenges alone. Filene calls this “the network effect” and our Roadshows are designed to activate it by bringing you information to collaborate for a smoother road ahead. Our focus for 2024 is “The Future of….”, uses a half-day format to provide thought leadership without taking you away from your job for multiple days as some events do.
Our first 2024 Roadshow was at SchoolsFirst FCU in Tustin, CA on March 19th and brought together 47 folks from local credit unions to learn from each other, form new connections and take innovative ideas back to their credit unions.
We also bring in best-in-class experts in the areas CU execs have identified as the most pressing challenges to talk about what they see, what they are hearing in the field, and what is being worked on to help credit unions plan for future changes. In Tustin, we had our Filene alum Fellow Hope Schau talk about her latest work on different generations and strategies for how to segment your messaging to consumers based on how each generation responds to items like budgeting and financial education.
We ended the day with a panel to talk about all areas that will affect how credit unions function in the future with the topics ranging from technology, membership, payments, lending and more. Experts from VISA, Origence, and Momentum joined our Filene Fellow Bill Maurer to answer questions and discuss hot topics of the day.
