Cent Cent Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited (Cent Cent SACCO – Credit Union)
As a new generation credit union, Cent Cent SACCO is a product of applied research knowledge translation, which is
the science of taking research evidence and applying it to the real world. It will thus be sustained and will curve its
future permanent place on the financial services landscape by implementation of applied research. This is the major
preoccupation of Mr. Wilson Wizalamu as the Head of Secretariat in charge of the day to day operations of Cent
Cent SACCO. It is his major goal to see the credit union attain financial stability that would enable it to achieve holistic
human development for all in its sphere of influence as underpinned by the timeless philosophy of people helping
people.
Mr. Wilson Wizalamu’s God given S.H.A.P.E (Skills, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience) outlined below is
specially cut for this assignment which he considers his life purpose and vocation.
Skills
He is a certified Africa Credit Union Development Educator (ADE), a DGRV trained SACCO/CU
Trainer of Trainers, an ILO trained Financial Educator, and an ILO certified Making
Microfinance Work (MMW): Managing for better performance. In addition he is a certified
Partners Worldwide Trainer for the Business as a Mission (BAM) Course.
He holds an MBA from Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU), a Bachelor of Accountancy
(Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), a CIMA Diploma in Management
Accounting and an extra-curriculum certificate in Entrepreneurial Development (UZ)
He is a member in good standing of the Institute of Risk Managers of South Africa (IRMSA) a
professional body.
Heart
His heart is “to learn, to do, and to teach” in order to be a master of his craft, thus becoming
a well-equipped thought leader and practitioner for the socio-economic transformation of
communities in Africa, through the agency of credit unions/SACCOs, which appear to be the
world’s best kept secret in human development, International Development and the building
of financial capabilities of the marginaised.
Abilities
He reads widely and is keen on writing, given to applied research and development that
feeds continuous education and training, mentoring and coaching for human beings to
achieve their full potential.
Personality
He is a determined decisive doer and a task-oriented introvert
Experience
He has over 20 years in microfinance, banking, financial reporting, management accounting,
regulatory and compliance accounting.
He is a husband of one lovely wife Lawrencia and is blessed with a supportive family that has sacrificed a lot and
continues to do so for this collective dream and mission. He is a father of three (two boys and one girl) for whom
together with the all Africa’s youth dividend, he sees himself as “The Bridge Builder”
