Martin Reed

VP, Marketing & Research at Cooperative Credit Union Association

As the unofficial Minister of Propaganda and self-appointed Poet Laureate for Credit Unions, Martin oversees the Marketing & Research departments at Central 1. Martin has played a pivotal role in the strategic development, branding and marketing communications for dozens of individual credit unions. As acting Chair of the Province-Wide Committee for the last nine years, his team has spearheaded many successful cooperative campaigns on behalf of the credit unions in B.C. and Ontario. These include the 'ding free' campaign, the 'Some Choices Matter' campaign, the Cooperative Banking initiative and the 'Get Your Share' member acquisition program. Holding a B. Comm. with a major in Marketing from Concordia University. Martin has successfully completed the Design Thinking program from the d.School at Stanford University and is in the process of finishing the Corporate Entrepreneur Innovation program there as well. Martin is a member of the Marketing Association for Credit Unions (having previously served as a MACU board member), a member of the BCAMA Executive and has been a judge for both the CUES Golden Mirror Awards in the US and twice for the BC chapter of the American Marketing Association 'Marketer of the Year' award.
