Laurie Butz

President & CEO at Capital Credit Union

Laurie Butz is a 2013 graduate of CUES CEO Institute and has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of WI Oshkosh.  She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of WI Green Bay, along with being a certified Senior Professional in Human Resource Management (SPHR), a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, and a former Law Student at Marquette University.  In her free time she teaches HR, Organizational Behavior, Strategy and Change Management classes at the University of WI Oshkosh. 

She has applied the knowledge gained through her education in a 25 year career in the Human Resources, Organizational Development, Sales Administration and Training and Education profession all within the Financial Services and Business Services Industries.

Laurie is currently the SVP, Organizational Development, Investments, and Business Services for Community First CU in Appleton WI.  Community First is a $1.8 billion dollar state charted credit union with over 100,000 members and 400 employees in the Northeast WI region. 

Laurie is also an active volunteer and serves on the board of directors for the Community First CUSO – Insurance Services, Inc, YMCA as Chair of HR Committee, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fox Cities also as Personnel Chair.  

On a personal note, Laurie is from Green Bay, WI.  Her husband, Dennis works in lean manufacturing for Paper Converting, a Barry Wehmiller Company. She also has a 17 year old daughter, Allison, who is entering her senior year of college.  Also a member of the family is their Golden Retriever “Lucy” who is a certified Good Citizen and Therapy dog.

Laurie enjoys running, golf, boating, and travel.
