Katie Gaynor joined the marketing and communications team to support Filene’s strong brand image and help translate data and research into real connections by humanizing issues and trends surrounding the credit union industry.  More specifically, she shares Filene members’ success stories with the world and develops engaging ways to convey how Filene works to improve people’s daily lives.

Katie’s passion lies in utilizing communication strategies for humanitarian efforts. Prior to working with Filene, Katie supported the missions of nonprofit organizations like AmeriCorps, Operation Fresh Start, American Red Cross and Domestic Abuse Intervention Services.

She was drawn to Filene’s mission to help credit union’s make a difference in the lives of their members by supporting their path towards financial stability and wellness, a key factor that determines quality of life and wellbeing. In her prior work, access to financial support was a crucial element in an individuals’ recovery and long-term success.

Katie earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a proud Minnesotan living in Wisconsin, she’s unapologetically loyal to the Steelers – no matter how many Packer fans she’s surrounded by!

You can catch Katie volunteering for a variety of causes including serving as a Board Member for the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault. In her down time, Katie spends time with her dog, Bremi, and considers supervising his social media presence an important part of life.
