Meet our Summer 2019 interns!
Alex Toy - Research Intern
Where there’s piles of data, there’s Alex Toy, ready to sift through with his insightful eye! Alex works with the custom research team to arm credit unions with tools to better serve their members. His focus is on analyzing financial wellbeing and conceptualizing tools for measuring and comparing the different needs of members. Whether he’s scraping data from a credit union website or analyzing a credit union call center, Alex is continually unearthing innovative ways to move the industry forward.
Alex is entering his final year of graduate school at UW-Madison to receive a master’s degree in economics with plans of pursuing his Ph.D. When he’s not busy studying, Alex can be found playing tennis and golf or cooking (with lots of hot sauce!)
Emma Patet - Marketing + Communications Intern
Emma Patet is Filene’s marketing communication ninja! She is adept at creating compelling marketing campaigns and her lightning-quick reflexes allow her to shift seamlessly between writing creative copy and more technical website work.
Emma is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication at the UW-Madison School of Journalism. She will spend the upcoming semester exploring the culture of Southeast Asia while studying graphic design at Mahidol University in Thailand. When she’s not busy planning for her upcoming adventure, Emma can be found searching for the best Indian food in Madison or cruising around State Street on her skateboard.
