Gwen Yamamoto Lau

Gwen Yamamoto Lau is Senior Vice President & Chief Lending Officer for HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union, the state's largest credit union with almost $1.4 billion in assets. In her role, Yamamoto Lau oversees the credit union's lending group which includes consumer, residential and business lending as well as collections. Yamamoto Lau is formerly the President of the Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corporation (HCRC), a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation designated as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the United States Department of Treasury. HCRC's mission and purpose is to facilitate affordable housing, community development and economic development throughout the state of Hawaii. With a strong commitment of service to our community Yamamoto Lau is actively involved with nonprofit and charitable organizations and currently serves on the Executive Committee for Goodwill Industries of Hawaii; as Board Treasurer for the Hawaii Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (HANO), and on the Executive Committee for Sacred Hearts Academy. Born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii, Yamamoto Lau has two children, Dr. Nicole Yamamoto, a Physical Therapist at Maui Memorial Hospital and Jared, a Freshman at Assets School. She resides on the island of Oahu with her husband and son.
