We are seeking a Graphic Design Contractor to produce high quality graphic design outputs while adhering to established Filene brand standards. The Design Contractor will work in a collaborative team environment toward a common goal of creating visually engaging and creative outputs that convey Filene’s content in useful and digestible ways for the target audience, while ensuring that outputs meet functional area needs and align with organizational messaging.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Brand Management: Experience in managing brand identity and consistency, establishing and maintaining visual brand standards.
- Creativity and Visual Design: Ability to create visually engaging and creative outputs that effectively communicate complex ideas.
- Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, taking initiative, and thriving in a creative start-up-like environment.
- High Production Output: Ability to produce high-quality design outputs at a fast pace, averaging at least 1–2 outputs per day.
- Format and Tools Proficiency: Proficient in digital, social, AV (video/presentation) and print formats. Proficient in graphic design tools and software (Adobe CS, Apple OS).
- Complex Idea Transformation/Data Visualization: Expertise in developing and transforming complex ideas and data into visual formats.
- Event Production: Ensure design theme is accurately replicated through all event outputs, including physical signage, presentation decks, print agendas, giveaways, etc.
- Website Content Design: Familiar with development and layout of design elements on website using content management tools.
- Collaboration: Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills to ensure alignment on high-quality deliverables.
- Content Management: Ability to create and manage content on the Filene website, and create consistency in online content look, and feel.
- Service Orientation: Provide extraordinary service to Filene’s staff, members, and stakeholders.
- Decision Making: Ability to make design decisions with limited supervision.
- Documentation: Effectively maintains electronic project folders to document design assets and project history.

Collaborate with team members to create outputs for various audiences in various formats as needed in priority order.

Contract Role / Project Details:
- Contractor needed for approximately 3-month duration with option for ongoing project-based work year-round.
- Hourly commitment approx. 25-30 hours/week; potential to lift to 40/wk. during peak project needs.
- At least 2 hours working during standard business hours (Central time zone) to allow for communication, review/feedback, and collaboration.
- Min. 3 years professional graphic design work experience.
- Hourly pay -- $40-60 per hour
