I’m an old guy. 36 years old, married, two kids, got a mortgage, a car payment, some student loans. Although I try and relate to the so-called Generation Next, Generation Y or Millennials, at the end of the day I am still an old guy with old guy things on my mind. Heck, I think 5:30 is late for going out to dinner! Many have raised the clarion call for credit unions to become more relevant to young adults through conferences, research, publications and expert advice. We all understand the need, and now the Filene Research Institute wants to DO something about it! So us old guys and gals are stepping aside and invite 30 young whippersnappers to shape this call to action.
Borrowing from the success of the i3 group, we are pleased to announce the formation of the “30 under 30” iniative. We are recruiting 30 people roughly under the age of 30 employed in the credit union system to generate, test and implement ideas which make credit unions more relevant to the 18-24 year old demographic.
Do you have what it takes to step outside your comfort zone and develop some exciting ideas on the national credit union stage? If so, please visit our 30 under 30 page today and apply for this unique opportunity.
