150 kids between the ages of 8 and 12 ascended upon the International Credit Union Campus in Madison, Wisconsin last week for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. As an organization that thrives on innovation and creative thinking, we wanted to see what our future leaders thought was in store for the World’s future.

I posed the question: What is important to you, or what do you worry about for the future such as, animals or the environment? While we were impressed with the thoughtfulness of the responses, which ranged from global warming to the protection of endangered species, we most certainly enjoyed some of the more “creative commentary.” A few of the kids had the following worries for our future:

    • “Free money for kids!!”
    • “Ipod, Cell phone” (Steve Jobs would be happy to hear this)
    • “Rainforest being almost extinct by 2015…Rainforest will be extinct!!”
    • “College” (parents will enjoy this answer)
    • And finally “Toyota cars”

No overly complicated trend review, no analysis by paralysis, just a few general thoughts off the top of their heads delivered with great confidence in just two minutes. It’s nice to see the future through a child’s eyes…

We're annoyed by questions like this too, but we're even more annoyed by spam (except the yummy canned kind).
