    Credit Union Social Media Baseline Survey CHECKLIST

    Thank you for your participation in the first-ever national survey designed to measure the impact of social media marketing efforts at credit unions. The baseline survey asks for specific information regarding your traditional and social media marketing efforts as well as your credit union’s overall performance. This document is designed to help streamline the survey process itself by anticipating some of the documents, reports, and data that you might need. Please refer to this checklist prior to taking the baseline survey.

    Credit Union Information

    Section 1: General information about the credit union and respondent.

    1. Employee report, showing total number of employees (all classifications)
    2. June 2010 NCUA call report (or equivalent)
    3. Membership report showing average age of membership (rounded to the nearest tenth) and average number of services per member (rounded to the nearest hundredth)
    4. Number of new products or services launched in the last 24 months

    Section 2: Annual marketing and community efforts

    1. Your credit union’s marketing budget, with breakdown by channel/category

    Section 3: Social Media

    1. List of social media channels currently used
    2. Specific measures by channel (see “social media measures” below)

    Section 4: Assessing Impact

    1. Web traffic report measuring hits to your primary website between June 1 and August 31, 2010
    2. Report from your clipping service (if applicable) measuring media coverage between June 1 and August 31, 2010 (NOTE: you will not be asked for a specific number, just to compare this quarter to the previous)
    3. Google alerts report (or similar) measuring the number of online mentions your credit union received between June 1 and August 31, 2010 (NOTE: you will not be asked for a specific number, just to compare this quarter to the previous)

    1. Number of posts per day on average for the period between June 1 and August 31, 2010 (as well as other general information on your usage of the channel)
    2. Number of fans/likers/members
    3. Number of wall posts or comments made by fans/likers/members from June 1 to August 31, 2010
    4. Number of messages received from June 1 to August 31, 2010
    If you use TWITTER you will NEED TO KNOW:
    1. Number of posts per day on average for the period between June 1 and August 31, 2010 (as well as other general information on your usage of the channel)
    2. Number of followers
    3. Number of mentions you have had from June 1 to August 31, 2010 (to the extent that you can measure)
    4. Number of retweets from June 1 to August 31, 2010
    5. Number of direct messages (dms) received from June 1 to August 31, 2010
    If you use A BLOG you will NEED TO KNOW:
    1. Number of posts per day on average for the period between June 1 and August 31, 2010 (as well as other general information on your usage of the channel)
    2. Number of comments by readers from June 1 to August 31, 2010
    3. Number of visitors from June 1 to August 31, 2010 (if known)
