Through independent research and innovation, the Filene Research Institute explores issues vital to the future of credit unions and consumer finance.

Filene's Ideas Grow Here

  1. Filene Risk Watch Reports: A Member Benefit

    Riskmmgt

Risk management is an important and difficult topic for many credit unions. Filene recently developed a customized, member-only report to help identify the key risks facing your credit union. We call these quarterly reports, Filene Risk Watch Reports, and they are available free of charge to Filene members.

In late 2010, Filene created a prototype of this report whereupon we requested (and received) feedback from credit unions, risk management experts and senior representatives from the National Credit Union Administration.

After numerous revisions, we are pleased to provide Filene members their own customized Filene Risk Watch Report which is designed to enhance risk management discussions and decisions at your credit union.

It is essential that, in reviewing your Filene Risk Watch Report, you bear in mind that the benchmarks represent the regulators assessment of risk and, by their very nature, they are conservatively structured. Credit unions operate in a sector that inherently balances risk and reward. A lowering of risk, generally speaking means a lower reward, and vice versa.

We're annoyed by questions like this too, but we're even more annoyed by spam (except the yummy canned kind).
