Filene’s i3 Group visited the NCUA’s Alexandria, Virgina headquarters on Tuesday, April 8th as part of their Washington, D.C. Spring Gathering.

During the visit, NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland (pictured above) along with Vice Chairman Rodney Hood and various staff members reviewed current initiatives and discussed how the NCUA is dedicated to supporting and encouraging innovation in the credit union industry.

“It was wonderful to learn more about how the NCUA applauds and supports our efforts to develop and implement innovative new ideas credit unions can use to better serve their members,” said Filene Chief Innovation Officer Denise Gabel. “I’m thrilled that the group had the opportunity to visit the NCUA’s offices and hear firsthand from staff members about each of their areas of focus. I’m sure that as a result of the meeting i3 members will feel more comfortable calling the NCUA staff they’ve met to review specific questions about their projects.”

The i3 Group met the previous day at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts where they presented their innovative team ideas to fellow volunteers, and discussed how to refine and improve their projects before releasing them for credit union piloting and implementation.

Applications are now being accepted for new members of Filene’s i3 Group. Please click here to learn more about Filene i3 and how you or an innovative colleague can apply for membership. Applications are being accepted online through Tuesday, May 27, 2008.
