Credit unions operate in a veritable cul-de-sac of ideas, information, processes, and talent. This is the safest, most comfortable neighborhood in the business world; a cooperative, collaborative, friendly, and safe place to develop and share ideas. We couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.
As comfortable as we are, however, the Filene Research Institute is constantly looking outside this cul-de-sac to find answers to pressing problems. Connecting credit unions to thought leaders in academia, business, and industry is critical to helping us progress as a system. Trips to the autobahn are exhilarating, exhausting, and essential. We want you to join us.
In our many years of developing Filene’s innovation tool kit, three specific experience opportunities have bubbled to the top. Each has been instrumental to our development, and we have no doubt that they can help credit union leaders transform their organizations as well.
Innovation Engineering Leadership Institute
One of the biggest barriers to innovation is the unpredictability of results. The Innovation Engineering Leadership Institute gives us proven processes born from industry, engineering, and invention that dramatically improve the likelihood that new ideas will succeed. Even better, the processes optimize the efficiency of innovation—ideation, creation, implementation, communication, and commercialization. This 2 ½ day program is a key part of our Filene i3 innovation training. So, join a Filene representative for any of the below dates/locations:

Singularity University
Ever wonder where Mark Meyer, Filene’s CEO, gets his big ideas? Salim Ismail, Executive Director for Singularity University, stretched Mark’s mind well beyond credit unions into a world where we’re talking about solving the world’s biggest problems: things like water, food, and shelter for billions of people. Ismail stretched even more minds at Filene’s big.bright.minds meeting in 2010. Through an exclusive partnership with the Filene Research Institute, Singularity University has opened their doors to a handful to credit union senior executives to walk them through the implications of accelerating technological change.
