Credit union credit card lending has grown 49% to more than $33B in the past five years. Credit unions now hold 4.6% market share in credit cards, and cards account for 6.3% of all credit union loans. Despite this remarkable growth, banks are far outpacing credit unions in new revolving loan growth.

The Filene Research Institute and Hall Associates Consulting, LLC are collaborating to assess the extent and performance of North American credit unions ‘green’-oriented lending. Regardless of their current green-lending profile, all credit unions are encouraged to complete the survey. The results will be published in 2011, along with a guide that outlines the opportunities, variables, and challenges of green lending.
